In this presentation, I will refer to some of the enunciative, linguistic and aesthetic complexities of two main genres of ritual song by the Krahô, an Indigenous people speaking a Jê language who live in the northwest of the state of Tocantins, in Brazil. The talk will highlight the constitutive diversity of Amerindian vocal poetics (in this case, within the same people) and show how they demand different paths of translation experimentation.
