Joana Cabral de Oliveira

Joana Cabral de Oliveira is associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). PhD in Social Anthropology and postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Biosciences, both at the University of São Paulo, she has conducted research with the Wajãpi people, in the state of Amapá (BR), working with them and other indigenous peoples in the areas of education, health and environment. She is currently researching with the peoples of the Middle Jequitinhonha Valley. Her field of study and work focuses on traditional
knowledge associated with biodiversity and interdisciplinary dialogues between biology and anthropology.
