Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on his armou like back and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly
In this session, we will discuss ancestral/traditional and ritualistic uses of psychedelic plants and fungi, as well as the recent “renaissance” of research on this topic. We will address the uses of psychedelic plants and fungi in mental health treatment, including of conditions such as resistant depression, post-traumatic stress, and other comorbidities. The debate will also touch upon the dangers associated with the excessive use of these plants and fungi. In addition to the biomedical dimension, the debate will cover sociocultural, legal, religious, and ethical aspects of psychedelic plants and fungi, including the appropriation of Indigenous knowledge and the challenges of integrating these substances into contemporary society. In short, this session aims to foster an open dialogue that overcomes stigmas and responsibly evaluates the complex role of psychedelics in our past, present, and future.
