The thought of Antonio Bispo dos Santos, a quilombola master from the caatinga region of Piauí, has been fundamental for understanding counter-coloniality. This lecture aims to present the seed-words of Nego Bispo and his method of occupying words, as well as to situate these concepts within the context of contributions to environmental issues and the struggles for racial equality in Brazil, including the achievements of social movements and the success of racial quota policies in universities.
