The colloquium is intended as a space to present the progress of recent research and/or fieldwork, with emphasis on the topic of endangered or formally disappeared languages, and to discuss the ethical and methodological implications of this type of research. Taking these issues as a starting point, the meeting aims to encourage a transversal reflection that analyzes the socio-cultural and political implications of revitalization projects or, from a socio-historical point of view, how the issue of “endangered languages” informs us about the effects produced by colonization projects, the expansion of extractive fronts and the inclusion of indigenous communities in regional markets.
