A critical tour through the visual arts of the indigenous Peruvian Amazon since their irruption in Lima at the end of the last century will be presented. We will note how the themes developed by the artists move between visual narratives of an ethnographic nature, which dialogue with anthropology, to others that affirm and claim a place for their epistemes, subalternized by the hegemonic systems that sustain art. The crossroads that Amazonian indigenous peoples face when integrating exhibitions, fairs and biennials and other platforms of circulation of the liberal multiculturalism that sustains the global system of contemporary art will be discussed.
