The aim of the Plant Alterities event was to bring together researchers, both indigenous and non-indigenous, from different areas of knowledge in the human sciences who are interested in plant life and its multispecies entanglements. So-called “plant interactions” open up space for innovative and interdisciplinary approaches that invite us to experiment with different modes of thinking and epistemologies. The goal is to open up space for new conceptual tools, less centered on humanity as its paradigmatic figure. The event aims to stimulate discussions that start from other-than-human socialities, especially the agencies of plant beings, in order to weave alliances in the face of the current, deepening environmental and climate crises.
