Rocío Gress Carrasco
She holds a degree in History, an MA and a PhD in Art History from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She has participated in research groups, artwork registration, exhibitions, publications, academic and teaching forums in México, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, Bolivia and Perú. She is a member of research projects on Indigenous history and art of the Americas at the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas, UNAM. She studies Indigenous history and art of the Americas, particularly rock art, iconography, anthropology of art, cultural interactions and comparative methodologies. She is the founder and coordinator of the international project “Vínculos y miradas comparadas en América Indígena. Una perspectiva continental.” She is teacher and tutor at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (College of Latin American Studies and Postgraduate Studies in Art History), as well as at the Centro de Enseñanza para Extranjeros, UNAM, where she teaches courses and directs undergraduate research on art and history of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas.
