Nestor Paiva Pinedo
Indigenous leader of the Amazonian Shipibo Konibo people. UN Fellow-2015 – Legal Mechanisms and Tools for the Defense of Human Rights – University of Deusto-Bilbao- Basque Country-Spain. Representative of Native communities to the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP), subsidiary body of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC), held in Geneva – Switzerland, in 2015. He has participated in the Multidisciplinary Meeting of Indigenous Peoples in Ghent, Belgium; in the Amazon School of Human Rights and Environment, Ecuador; and in the Senen Soi Amazon School, Peru. He has directed several bilingual intercultural radio programs for the FM Stereo 100 radio station in Pucallpa. He is a member of the Network of Indigenous Communicators of Peru (FILIAL-UCAYALI- REDCIP,) of the Board of Directors of the Permanent Forum of Indigenous Peoples of Ucayali (FPPIU) and a reporter for IDEELE Radio. He currently directs the traditional health initiative to counteract the advance of the Covid 19 pandemic, with the strategy of Comando Matico and the RAO-MEDICINE Association. He studied art and theater at the institution Arenas y Esteras in the city of Lima. He is producer of the project “Plants that heal”, producer of “Aniamazonia”, producer and director of the documentary “Animashinan”.
