Raphael Uchôa
POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER
Raphael Uchôa is Adrian Research Fellow at Darwin College, University of Cambridge and associated researcher at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science from the same institution. His research historicizes the geopolitical and epistemological transit of botanical and ethnographic materials from the Amazon basin to the global north in the modern period. Currently, Raphael is an associate researcher with the ECO project in the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra and coordinator of the research group “Science and its Others: Histories of Ethno-Science” at the University of Cambridge. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department for the History of Science and Ideas at Uppsala Universitet and held a research position on the Amazon basin at Museu Goeldi in Belém, Brazil.
